Vegetable Planting Guide:
Tomatoes
The most elusive vegetable at the moment (well fruit… but lets not open that can of worms) is the tomato.
Tomatoes come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Firstly the Cherry to the elegant heritage and even the behemoth beefsteak.
Tomatoes are one of the most satisfying and equilly important easiest things to grow.
All you need is rich fertile soil. This can be achieved by digging compost through your garden or the quicker way of simply buying a bag from your local garden centre. Click here to see your local garden centres
Plant the seeds 2-3cms deep and 5 CMs next to each other (covering will enable them to germinate quicker) and water regularly.
Once you have small plants growing you can use bamboo or similar grow aids to make sure your plants grow tall and supported.

Cucumbers
Cucumbers are very visually rewarding to grow. From the moment they flower to the point the vegetable starts to appear, you can watch and be proud of your ability to grow.
Cucumber seeds need to be planted on their side about 1-2 CMS deep. Don’t forget to follow the rule of 7! Once you have 7 leaves pinch out the growing tip leaving the developing side shoots. Allowing all the energy to be put into the flowers.
